Early morning vehicle incident impacts Highway 5 traffic near Clearwater

UPDATE (9:30 a.m.): A local detour is in effect for passenger vehicles only. However, DriveBC says commercial vehicles are not permitted through the stretch of Highway 5.

Another update is due for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.

EARLIER: CLEARWATER, B.C. — An early morning collision has halted traffic on the Yellowhead Highway near the District of Clearwater.

DriveBC first reported of a vehicle incident on Highway 5 at Cliff Road – around three kilometres east of Clearwater – shortly before 2:00 a.m. Tuesday (April 23). The road is closed in both directions.
