Fire chief Uzeloc commends joint effort to contain Cooney Bay fire

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire and Rescue Chief Ken Uzeloc posted on Twitter just before 10 p.m. on Saturday (April 20) to congratulate Kamloops Fire Rescue (KFR), the BC Wildfire Service and CN Railway for joining forces to contain a fire in Cooney Bay.
The grass fire on the north shore of Kamloops Lake west of Kamloops Airport was reported to authorities early on Saturday afternoon.
As of 5:30 p.m. last night, it was six hectares in size.
Uzeloc noted KFR crews were to remain on scene through Saturday night.
