COLLINS: ‘Fairness’ is not a word I would use to describe the federal budget
THE DAY AFTER the ‘Fairness’ budget was presented Tuesday (Apr. 16), Prime Minister Trudeau talked about how his budget was going to give priority to the millennials and Gen-Xers who are up against the wall. He said they weren’t getting the same breaks as their parents and grandparents got.
What a crock of crap.
As the leader of the Bloc Quebecois said, it’s really all about the political agenda of Justin Trudeau. The budget was terribly weighted in favor of younger Canadians. And why would it not be? Older Canadians are leaning Conservative, so Trudeau is planning to woo the younger demographics in an effort to stay in office.
But in reality, it’s false economics. Billions and billions to be spent on housing and open up spaces — we hope. And that’s the bulk of the spending. And the deficit will be almost $40 billion this year, ballooning to $60 billion by the end of the decade, according to several analysts. A little movement on the pharmacare plan, but not much for anything else.
