Kamloops RCMP seize loaded Glock 42 after traffic stop on Overlanders Bridge

KAMLOOPS — A 27-year-old Kamloops man faces multiple charges after police seized a loaded Glock 42.

In a news release issued Thursday (April 11) morning, Kamloops RCMP say officers held a traffic stop on Overlanders Bridge in the early hours of March 30 for a white sedan without its taillights on.

Police say they found weapons, including the loaded Glock 42.

RCMP say Tyler Dean Rear was arrested and held in custody ahead of his court appearance Thursday. His eight charges include:

  • careless use, storage, or transport of a Glock 42 pistol
  • carrying a concealed weapon
  • occupying a vehicle knowing there was a prohibited weapon inside
  • possessing a prohibited weapon without a licence
  • possessing a prohibited weapon
  • possessing a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • possessing a firearm knowing that the serial number had been altered
  • possessing a prohibited or restricted firearm while prohibited
