Vehicle incident impacts northbound traffic on Coquihalla Highway between Kamloops and Merritt

UPDATE (10:00 a.m.): The stretch of Highway 5 reopened.

EARLIER: KAMLOOPS — A vehicle incident has halted northbound traffic on a stretch of the Coquihalla Highway from Merritt to Kamloops.

DriveBC first reported of a vehicle incident on Highway 5 north of Helmer Road at around 7:55 a.m. Friday (April 5).

An assessment is in progress. In the meantime, a detour is in effect via Highway 5A.
