KAMLOOPS – While a bunny might be the first animal that comes to mind during Easter, Blackwell Dairy put the spotlight on its cows.

This year marked the first Easter party thrown by Blackwell Dairy Farm and well over 1,000 guests made the trip to Barnhartvale.

“Today, we’ve added and made some free events just for families to come out and have some fun with a few games, wander through, see the cows, and of course, the brilliant idea of our Easter nog hunt,” said VP of Blackwell Dairy Farm Laura Hunter.

Instead of hunting for eggs, families were invited to participate in a scavenger hunt that ended with chocolate eggnog.

“Our chocolate eggnog came out brand new last year and it sold out the first year,” explained Hunter. “It is a popular item, so we packaged it in small drinkable units for the kids.”

She says this Easter event could be a new tradition for the farm.

“The reactions have been great. We’ve really enjoyed having everybody here,” said Hunter. “I see lots of smiling faces. I see lots of sunshine, and that’s all I can ask for.”
