Sun Peaks Freestyle Club athletes hit national podium

SUN PEAKS — Sun Peaks Freestyle Club athletes reached the podium at the Freestyle Canada Junior National Park and Pipe Championships this past weekend in Calgary.

Wren Grunling won gold in big air and slopestyle.

Marigold Campbell won gold in the under-16 girls’ big air competition.

Ryder Mckenzie-White won gold in under-16 slopestyle and is the national overall junior slopestyle champion. He also placed fifth in the U16 big air competition.

Cooper Basko won silver in slopestyle and placed fourth in big air in the U14 division.

Athletes were invited to the event on the back of outstanding performances throughout the season in provincial and national competitions.

Club members will be in action at the B.C. championship this weekend at SilverStar Mountain Resort in Vernon.
