PRINCE GEORGE — Graduating forward Ashton Ferster tallied two goals in his final WHL game, but his Kamloops Blazers fell 5-2 to the hometown Prince George Cougars on Saturday (March 23) at CN Centre.

The Cougars (49-15-1-3) clinched the Western Conference title with the victory, while Kamloops (20-42-3-3) logged its eighth consecutive defeat to finish last in league standings.

Prince George will square off against the Spokane Chiefs in Round 1 of the post-season.

Jesse Sanche backstopped the Blazers and stopped 34 shots in a losing effort.

Ferster, Logan Bairos and Blake Swetlikoff are the graduating Blazers.

The Blazers will gather for exit meetings on Monday (March 25) before going their separate ways for the off-season.
