Persian New Year celebration to take place at TRU

KAMLOOPS — Celebration of Persian New Year (Nowruz) will take place on Tuesday (March 19) at Thompson Rivers University.
The TRU Students’ Union Persian Club is playing host to the event, which will run from 7:00 p.m. to midnight in Room 190 in the Brown Family House of Learning.
Nowruz marks the beginning of spring and festivities include photos alongside the Haft-Sin table, which features seven symbolic items in Persian culture.
Garlic, for example, represents health and will be part of the Haft-Sin spread.
