KAMLOOPS — A house fire early Wednesday morning (March 13) in Brocklehurst appears to have been deliberately set.

In a news release, RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says RCMP crews were called to a home in the 1700-block of Brunner Avenue at about 3:00 a.m.

Smoke was coming out of a window of the building, with Kamloops Fire Rescue crews trying to put it out.

“Two people were reported as throwing something into the house, then fleeing the area — one on a bike,” said Evelyn.

No one was injured and the flames were quickly snuffed out, but RCMP officers stayed in the area throughout the day in an effort to track down the suspects.

Anyone with further information, including relevant video footage, is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 and refer to file number 2024-7335.
