Armed standoff at Kamloops hotel appears to end with one man in RCMP custody

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are not yet offering information on an apparent armed standoff that took place on Saturday (March 9) at the Travelodge by Wyndham Kamloops Mountview hotel on Rogers Way.

A video posted on TikTok (@Hailey) shows police vehicles, including an armoured truck and multiple armed officers responding to the incident at the hotel, along with a police dog.

Loud banging noises are heard in the video and two officers are shown detaining one cuffed man, patting him down outside of a police van.

Kamloops RCMP on Sunday told CFJC Today that it will not be immediately sharing information on the incident.

Detachment spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn might offer comment at a later date, according to RCMP.
