Sales, inventory, prices all up in Kamloops real estate for February

KAMLOOPS — Sales are slightly up but inventory is up even greater in the Kamloops real estate market.

According to new statistics provided by the Association of Interior Realtors (AIR), the Kamloops and District region saw 155 residential unit sales in February 2024, up from the 113 sales the month prior.

AIR reports 400 new listings were recorded in Kamloops and area in February, up 30.7 per cent year-over-year and up from 306 new listings in January. Inventory sits at 937 active listings, a 17.7 per cent year-over-year.

“Activity in the Kamloops and District region has steadily been picking up over the last month with both buyers and sellers seemingly rearing to get going on their real estate aspirations. With active listings climbing, the region may already be well into the rebound phase with inventory depicting numbers of pre-pandemic levels,” Chelsea Mann, AIR president, states.

Despite the increase in inventory, the benchmark price in Kamloops is up year-over-year. Single-family homes are up 5.8 per cent to $647,000 and townhomes are up 2.6 per cent to $526,800. Condominiums are up the most at $380,100 – an increase of 11.3 per cent compared to 2023.
