Kamloops Fire Rescue looks to the public for input on strategic plan

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue is looking for community input as it works to create a 10-year master plan aimed at providing a strategic roadmap for future emergency response services in the city.

According to KFR, the department aims to enhance community safety, and emergency response capabilities and responsibilities with this initiative.

During the process, Chief Ken Uzeloc says members will meet with local businesses and residents to hear their opinion on expectations, experiences and interactions with emergency services.

“It’s a balance of meeting what the fire service sees, what our council sees, and what citizens and industry sees the needs are — and then making sure we are providing what is an acceptable, appropriate but affordable fire service for the whole community,” said Uzeloc.
