Storm to host Game 7 in Madhouse on McArthur

The Madhouse on McArthur will open its doors on Monday.

For the second straight year, the Kamloops Storm and Sicamous Eagles will square off in Game 7 of a Round 1 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League series, with a big crowd expected for the crucial tilt.

Game time is 7 p.m. on Monday (March 4) at McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre.

Sicamous edged visiting Kamloops 2-1 on Saturday (March 2) to force Game 7 in the Doug Birks Division semifinal.

Alex Smith notched two first-period goals for the Eagles in support of goaltender Gabe Bergeron, who stopped 19 shots to pick up the victory between the pipes.

Kamloops netminder Colton Phillips-Watts made 39 saves in a losing effort.

The Revelstoke Grizzlies swept the Chase Heat 4-0 in the other division semifinal series and await the winner of the Storm-Eagles series in Round 2.
