Coquihalla south of Merritt back open after snowfall-prompted closure

MERRITT, B.C. — The Coquihalla Highway has reopened Thursday afternoon (Feb. 29) after a lengthy closure.
The stretch of Highway 5 between Merritt and Hope was closed for nearly 24 hours because of vehicle incidents related to extreme winter weather.
In addition, Environment Canada has ended a winter storm warning for the route.
The Trans Canada Highway between Revelstoke and Golden, which was also closed for an extended period, has reopened as well.
