WolfPack basketball teams fall to UVic Vikes, wrap up their seasons Thursday

KAMLOOPS — Both men’s and women’s Thompson Rivers University WolfPack basketball teams began their final road trip of the 2023-24 Canada West season with losses on Vancouver Island Wednesday (Feb. 14).
The men’s WolfPack and the top-ranked University of Victoria Vikes were nearly deadlocked at the half, with the WolfPack trailing 46-45. However, a 30-13 third quarter got away from the WolfPack en route to the 97-79 loss. Simon Crossfield led the way offensively off the bench with 16 points on 5-for-8 shooting while adding three assists, two rebounds and four steals.
Elsewhere, the women’s WolfPack were blown out 77-30 to the Vikes. The WolfPack only scored 10 points in the second half. Kate De La Mare led TRU offensively with eight points on 3-for-6 shooting while adding six rebounds and two blocks.
The men fall to 6-13 on the season and sit 13th in the Canada West standings while the women fall to 2-17 and sit 15th.
