Downtown Kamloops bus melee ends with arrest

KAMLOOPS — A scuffle with a weapon on a Kamloops Transit bus was cleaned up quickly in the downtown Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 31).

In a news release, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says officers were called to the 100-block of Victoria Street West just before 4:00 p.m. A group of people were involved in a fracas on a bus, and witnesses said one of them had a weapon.

“Thanks to the fast response of frontline officers, a suspect was quickly located, taken into custody, and no serious injuries were reported,” said Evelyn.
