Climate Action workshop brainstorming ideas to reduce impacts of climate change
KAMLOOPS — Transition Kamloops, the Kamloops Food Policy Council and the Kamloops Naturalist Club are hosting the Climate Action Fest 2.0 today (Jan. 27).
During the one-day workshop, participants will be able to share ideas about ways to reduce GHG emissions and the local climate pollution. The goal is to make the community more resilient to the impacts already seen from climate change.
“Everyone has been affected by the fires and the smoke and the floods. There is a huge concern out there among Kamloops about how best to respond to that and to prepare for what’s coming. So what Transition Kamloops is doing is providing an opportunity for people to get together and talk about that and come up with tangible ways to make things better,” explained Gisela Ruckert, organizer with Transition Kamloops.
The event will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Kamloops United Church. Results of the workshop will be announced in a later date.
