Semi in the ditch impacting traffic on Highway 97 south of Monte Creek

KAMLOOPS — A semi-truck in the ditch is halting traffic in both directions on Highway 97 south of Monte Creek.

DriveBC first reported a vehicle incident on Highway 97 near Hanna Road between Monte Creek and Monte Lake at around 9:00 a.m. Monday (Jan. 22).

Photos posted to social media show a semi-truck hood-first into the ditch with its cargo blocking both lanes.

A detour via Barnhartvale Road, Highways 1, 97A and 97B is in effect. DriveBC says crews are en route.
