KAMLOOPS — UPDATE (1:45 p.m.): CFJC Today received this statement from a spokesperson for Suncor Energy:

We are experiencing a temporary system disruption at the Suncor Kamloops terminal. As a result, there may be temporary fuel outages at some regional retail and commercial stations. We’re working hard to resolve the issue and replenish fuel at any impacted Petro-Canada sites, including sourcing alternate supply. We apologize for any inconvenience.

EARLIER: Drivers in Kamloops are being encouraged to conserve fuel in their vehicles.

In a post to social media Friday (Jan. 19) morning, Tk’emlups te Secwepemc says the Suncor fuel terminal in Kamloops has been unable to dispense fuel since Wednesday. The 36-hour outage has led to fuel shortages in the city, include the Tk’emlups Petro-Canada.

“We are diligently working on sourcing out fuel from other terminals within the province,” Tk’emlups states. “We received a fuel delivery from Prince George terminal today… therefore we will have fuel for today. Unfortunately, supreme gasoline is not available in this delivery.”

CFJC Today has reached out to Suncor Energy for comment.
