According to Deadline, the camera panned to the West Side Story actor, who had a puzzled look on her face. “Ariana DeBose, Oscar award winning, Tony nominated, OG cast member of Hamilton on BROADWAY…. ‘THINKS she’s a singer’?!? Who wrote this bit?! I want names #CriticsChoiceAwards,” one person wrote on X. DeBose later addressed the joke on her Instagram stories, writing, “No I didn’t find it funny. Lol.”

If they aren’t together when the show is airing, Fey said they will “live text during it.”
