Weekend fire damages vacant North Shore restaurant

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire early Saturday (Jan. 6) morning on the city’s North Shore.
The fire was contained to the exterior of the former Dynasty Garden restaurant on Tranquille Road. According to KFR’s deputy chief Ryan Cail, no one was injured and the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
“There was reports of propane cylinders, so compressed gas that could have been [the cause]. I haven’t seen it for myself and I haven’t seen it in a report. But what I did hear was that it could have been small propane bottles,” he said.
