Royal Inland given 28-1 odds for first B.C. baby of 2024

KAMLOOPS — There is always a level of interest in where the first baby of the year will be born. And now you can place your bets on which hospital will welcome the first child of the new year.

Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops is at 28-1 odds, meaning a $1 bet would land you $28.

The favourite again this year is the B.C. Women’s hospital at 3.5-1 odds, that despite not being home to the first baby since 2017. Last year’s winner of Abbotsford Regional Hospital is getting 12-1 odds to repeat in 2024.

In total 23 hospitals around the province have betting odds available.

The odds come from PlayNow, the B.C.’s only legal gambling website.
