Tree recycling set for after Christmas in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — While gentle arguments can be held about when is the correct time to put up your Christmas tree every year, the process of taking it down and getting it can begin in earnest quickly after the joyful day.

Whether you plan to take down your real tree on Boxing Day or wait until the new year, the city of Kamloops is prepared to take the trees.

“Most of the trees will end up out at Cinnamon Ridge, at our compost facility,” said Environmental Services Manager Glenn Farrow. “Throughout the end of December and early January there will be a handful of sites that you can drop those trees off conveniently.”

Those sites will included MacArthur Island, McGowan Park, and the Bunker Road yard waste site.
