KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops Blazers defenceman will play at the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) / National Hockey League (NHL) Top Prospects Game in January.

Harrison Brunicke, 17, will play in front of hundreds of NHL scouts and thousands of fans at the Top Prospects Game on Jan. 24, 2024, in Moncton, N.B. The NHL’s 32 teams select who they believe are the CHL’s top 40 draft-eligible players ahead of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft in June 2024.

Brunicke has scored 13 points (five goals and eight assists) in 30 games with the Blazers during the 2023-24 Western Hockey League (WHL) season. He was given a “C” rating by NHL Central Scouting, indicating he could be selected as high as the fourth or fifth round in the NHL Entry Draft.

Brunicke and the Blazers return to WHL action Wednesday, Dec. 27 when they welcome the Kelowna Rockets to Sandman Centre.
