SUN PEAKS, B.C. — A new childcare centre with 52 licensed spaces is now open for families in the Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality.

In a release issued Thursday (Dec. 14), the B.C. Ministry of Education and Child Care announced the Sun Peaks Community Daycare, located on 5036 Valley Drive, will offer child care for children aged up to 12, and will include wheelchair ramps, wide hallways, a universal washroom and handrails, a food-preparation space and an outdoor playground.

The centre will provide valuable learning experiences to children while supporting working families, allowing parents or guardians to work or attend other activities.

Mayor of Sun Peaks Al Raine stated the $1.8-million facility, funded by the ChildCareBC New Spaces Fund, will also immensely benefit the local economy.
