Weekend for Kamloops RCMP included 320+ calls, multiple assault investigations

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 328 calls for service from Friday, December 8, to Monday, December 11. Out of these reports, three occurrences stood out.

On December 9, at around 1:40 a.m., Kamloops RCMP were called to the 300-block of Victoria Street, where a male was asked to leave a commercial centre, after which he then allegedly assaulted two people outside the facility.

One victim was taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a stocky male, approximately 5’10’’ and was wearing a white t-shirt.

Also on December 9, at around 12:00 a.m., RCMP found a vehicle which had crashed into some bushes on the 2000-block of Sunnycrest Ave.

Upon investigating further, officers located a woman at a nearby residence pounding on doors and breaking glass. Once police made contact, the individual began to assault others in the address and was arrested.

She was placed in a cell and later released without process.

On December 10, at around 7:35 a.m., officers received a report of a man beating another male with a baseball bat on the 100-block of Victoria Street. Several people were arrested as part of the investigation and later released without process.

The victim was transported to hospital with non-life injuries, where police discovered he was also wanted on arrest warrants and taken into custody after treatment.
