KAMLOOPS — RCMP are reaching out to the public as they try to solve a serious assault that happened in downtown Kamloops last week.

In a news release, detachment spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says the incident happened in the wee hours of Tuesday, November 27.

Officers were called to a business in the 300-block of Victoria Street, finding a man with visible injuries.

Investigators believe the man, an employee at the business, was involved in an altercation after asking a member of the public to leave. The suspect then assaulted the employee with a sharp object.

RCMP have released photos of two people considered persons of interest. One photo shows a man while the other two show a woman — one in which her hair is pulled up and another in which it is down.

“Since the initial response, police have acquired security images featuring two people of interest: a man and a woman who officers would like to identify to help further the investigation,” said Cpl. Evelyn. “The pair may have left in a dark sedan.”

Suspect description:

  • White man
  • Dark complexion
  • About 6’3″ tall
  • Dark hair
  • Bushy beard

Anyone with further information on the incident or who can help identify the two people in the photos is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 and quote file number 2023-42116.
