Service interruption at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital emergency department

CLEARWATER, B.C. — Due to limited nursing availability, residents are advised of temporary changes to emergency department hours at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital.

Effective Monday (Dec. 4) from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m, emergency services will be unavailable, with patients encouraged to access care at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops instead.

All other inpatient services will continue as normal.

Residents in need of life-threatening emergency care should call 9-1-1 for transport to the nearest available facility.

Those unsure if they require emergency room care can call HealthLink B.C. at 8-1-1 or visit their website.
