Major crash closes McGill Road near TRU

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE (4:45 p.m.): B.C. Emergency Health Services released this statement to CFJC Today.

“BCEHS received a call at 3:01 p.m. today, November 29, regarding a motor vehicle incident at McGill Road and University Drive in Kamloops. Seven ambulances and a paramedic supervisor responded to the scene. Paramedics cared for seven patients who were transported to hospital; three were transported in critical condition and four were transported in stable condition. Paramedics provided care to an additional four people who did not require hospital transport.”

EARLIER: A major accident has closed a section of McGill Road and University Drive.

RCMP Spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn states that injuries have been reported to Mounties.

Kamloops Fire Rescue, BC Ambulance and RCMP remain on scene. There is no estimated time of reopening.

The public is asked to stay clear of the area near Summit Drive and McGill Road.
