Storm come home with two victories after perfect weekend on the road
GRAND FORKS, BC — The Kamloops Storm are coming home with four of a possible four points from a Kootenay International Junior Hockey League road swing.
On Friday night (Nov 24), the team went into Spokane, Washington for the first time in three years to face the Braves and secured a 6-3 win. Loch Stefanishyn recorded his first KIJHL hat trick, while Sam Lewis and Hudson Clarke had the other goals for Kamloops. Dustin Holitzki stopped 35 shots in the victory.
On the following night (Nov. 25), the Storm made a stop in Grand Forks to take on the Border Bruin, where they won 8-3. Horner and Sam Zulyniak had two goals a piece for Kamloops, while Lewis, Stefanishyn, Rory Mumford and Ryan Larsen added singles. Colton Phillips-Watts recorded the victory in the nets. Grand Forks outshot Kamloops 45-40 in the contest.
The Storm finished the month of November with nine wins and two defeats. They are 7-3 on the road this KIJHL season.
