Nicola Valley Hospital Emergency Department to close Sunday morning

MERRITT — Residents of Merritt in need of the services of a hospital Emergency Department, will need to drive to Kamloops or Kelowna Sunday (Nov. 26).
Interior Health says the Nicola Valley Hospital Emergency Department will be closed for 24 hours beginning Sunday at 8 a.m. It says the closure is due to limited physician availability.
Interior Health says all other inpatient services at the hospital will continue as normal.
Those who require life-threatening emergency care, including those suffering from chest pains, breathing difficulties, or severe bleeding, should call 911 for transportation to the nearest available hospital.
