WolfPack Volleyball returns to TCC for big homestand

KAMLOOPS — The TRU WolfPack Volleyball teams have not had the pleasure of playing in front of a home crowd for nearly month, last gracing the floor of the TCC on November 27.

All that changes tonight as the Men and Women begin a four game homestand before the winter break.

The women enter the weekend at 2-6, and are staring down a nationally-ranked (#8) opponent in the 6-2 Manitoba Bisons.

It was a pair of losses against the No. 1 ranked and reigning national champion Thunderbirds in Vancouver for TRU last weekend. Despite scorelines of 3-0 and 3-0, a young WolfPack team hung tough with the T-Birds.

Manitoba, who are currently fifth in the conference standings, come into the weekend riding a four-game winning streak that included victories of 3-0 and 3-2 over the

Manitoba’s Raya Surinx leads the conference with 122 kills on the season. TRU’s second-year libero Olivia Andulajevic of TRU is third in the conference with 83 digs.

Meanwhile the men are looking to jump above the 500-mark and dueling 4-4 record match up this weekend.

The road warrior ‘Pack have scored road wins over the nationally ranked Alberta Golden Bears and Saskatchewan Huskies as well as the perennial power UBC Thunderbirds so far this season.

Game kick off on Friday, for youth night with students getting in free, at 5:30 P.M. Game start on Saturday at 3:00 P.M.
