Salmon Arm woman escapes bear attack with minor injuries

SALMON ARM, B.C. — An investigation has been launched by the Conservation Officer Service after a woman in Salmon Arm was attacked by a bear on Tuesday (Nov. 21).

“A woman was running along a trail in southwest Salmon Arm when a black bear knocked her down,” according to the report posted to Facebook by the CSO. “The bear then bit and shook her before disengaging and leaving the area.”

The woman was treated for minor injuries at hospital.

Along with Conservation Officers, BC Emergency Health Services and RCMP responded to the call.
