Kamloops RCMP launch Safe for the Season campaign

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP have announced the launch of the Safe for the Season campaign, targeting retail parking lots across the city.

RCMP stated Detachment Crime Prevention volunteers will be dispatched to the Northills Mall lot later Tuesday (Nov. 21) from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. to launch the campaign.

The initiative is planned to run until December 22, an effort to create awareness on crime prevention during the holidays and encouraging safe shopping practices.

Volunteers will hand out tip cards and engage with the public over the next few weeks in various parking lots around Kamloops.

Cpl. Dana Napier of the Kamloops RCMP Crime Prevention Unit reminded the public to be extra vigilant while enjoying the winter holiday season and be mindful of leaving their property unattended.
