Blazers deal G Kieper to Swift Current for draft picks

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers made a minor deal on the weekend, trading goaltender Matthew Kieper to the Swift Current Broncos for a pair of draft picks.
Kieper, 19, had been playing for the Canmore Eagles in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
The Winnipeg native came over to Kamloops from the Regina Pats during the 2022-23 season. He played a total of 13 games for the Blazers over the past two seasons.
In exchange for Kieper, the Blazers acquire a third round pick in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft, as well as a ninth round pick in the 2026 draft.
