MERRITT B.C. — The city of Merritt is being invited to join Mayor Mike Goetz for a river walk Thursday, to recognize the two year anniversary of the devastating November 2021 floods.

“All members of the public are invited to join the Mayor’s walk as he surveils the progress of recovery and reveres the resiliency of our community as we work to build back from the disastrous November 2021 flood,” reads the release.

The walk is scheduled to begin this morning at 9:00 A.M.

“This estimated 7.5km walk is inspired by the Mayor’s personal commitment to recognize the impact that this tragic event has had on our community, to acknowledge the progress that the City and community members have achieved on their road to recovery, and to highlight work that still needs to be accomplished with the support of the provincial and federal governments,” continued the release.
