KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Storm picked up a big two points Tuesday night at McArthur Island with their third straight victory.

A big third period goal from the hot-hand of Jake Phillips-Watts proved decisive in a 4-3 win over the 100 Mile House Wranglers.

The Storm downed the Wranglers 4-3 in Kootenay International Junior Hockey League play.

The game saw Kamloops jump out to a 2-0 lead midway through the first period on goals from Rory Mumford and Austin Barrett.

That was before the Wranglers evened things up before the end of the period thanks to goals from Kelton Shinde and Alberto Kellgren.

Evan Douglas gave Kamloops a 3-2 lead on his sixth of the season in the second period before Kamloops Minor Hockey grad Luken Murray tied things up before the period ended. It was Murray’s first goal of the KIJHL season.

Dawson Holitzki notched his fifth win in seven starts for Kamloops. The Storm have beaten 100 Mile House 15 times in 22 meetings in Kamloops over the last five years.

Next up for Kamloops is Columbia Valley on the Olympic Ice Surface on Saturday (Nov 18). That is Mental Health Awareness night where the Storm will wear special green uniforms.
