KAMLOOPS — The annual Salvation Army kettle campaign kicked off Wednesday morning (Nov. 15) at City Hall with local dignitaries on hand for the start of the fundraiser in Kamloops.

With the snow falling to the ground, the mayor, councillors and MP Frank Caputo made the opening donations to the campaign. This year’s goal for the campaign is $240,000. The money raised through the kettles is the biggest source of funding for the Salvation Army all year.

“The money raised will stay right here locally in Kamloops and will support Salvation Army programs like our emergency disaster, our weekly feeding programs, kids programs, kids camps, seniors programs, youth programs. It helps us through the whole year with our funding for the Salvation Army and support for the community,” said Maj. Orest Goyak.
