BOSTON BAR, B.C. — The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) has culminated its investigation regarding the death of a woman in Boston Bar on April 2.

In a press release issued Friday (Nov. 10), the IIO says it has determined there is no causal connection between any action or inaction of officers in the death of the woman.

On April 2, first responders rushed to a fire at a residence on the Trans-Canada Highway, seven kilometres north of Boston Bar. A woman’s body was later found inside the building.

The IIO noted that police had received various calls for wellness checks to the residence throughout the week leading up to the fire.
