KAMLOOPS — RCMP say a lengthy standoff on the Kamloops North Shore Friday (Nov. 3) came after a report of a man being assaulted and robbed.

In a news release issued Monday, detachment spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says officers were called to a home in the 200-block of Larkspur Street at about 6:35 a.m. Friday.

Several people were believed to be inside, leading Mounties to surround the home.

After a long while, two men and a woman emerged and were arrested. Evelyn says everyone involved knew each other.

The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Two suspects were later released with a court date and conditions. It’s expected they will be charged by the B.C. Prosecution Service.

“A police presence remained in the area following the arrest as officers worked to obtain, then execute a search warrant on the residence as part of the ongoing investigation,” said Evelyn. “Anyone who witnessed or has information, including security video that may be related to this incident, is asked to contact police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with further information is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 and refer to file number 2023-39427.
