Giants defeat Blazers in shootout

LANGLEY – The Vancouver Giants defeated the Kamloops Blazers 3-2 after a three-round shootout yesterday (Nov. 4) evening at the Langley Events Centre.

Shea Van Olm tied the game 1-1 in the second period, with Fraser Minten tying the game 2-2 with 46 seconds left in the third period, taking the game to a scoreless overtime.

Ty Halaburda would score the winner and only shootout goal for the Giants, sealing the defeat by 0-1.

Giants’ goalie, Brett Mirwald, was the star of the game with a total of 41 saves out of 43 shots on net. Dylan Ernst would make 34 saves out of 36 shots for the Blazers.
