Multiple guns seized from speeding vehicle in the Cariboo: BC Highway Patrol

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — A man was arrested after a search of his vehicle on the Cariboo Highway found multiple guns.
In a news release Wednesday (Nov. 1), BC Highway Patrol–William Lake say they stopped a northbound vehicle for excessive speeding on Highway 97 near Lac La Hache Saturday (Oct. 28) morning.
The driver, a local man in his 20s who is known to police, was taken into custody. While searching the vehicle, police say they found a loaded shotgun, two assault-style rifles, one prohibited ammunition magazine and suspected cocaine.
Police say charges for multiple firearms offences are being recommended against the driver, and the vehicle was impounded for excessive speed.
