Charges laid into 2020 child death in North Okanagan

LUMBY, B.C. — Charges have been laid in the death of a child in the North Okanagan over three years ago.

On April 4, 2020, Vernon North Okanagan RCMP were called to the Lumby area to assist B.C. Emergency Health Services who were treating a child.

The child was flown by air ambulance to Kelowna for treatment, but in the early hours of April 5, was pronounced deceased.

The RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit and the B.C. Coroners Service were tasked with investigating the death.
