WolfPack men’s soccer heads to Calgary with Canada West redemption front of mind
KAMLOOPS – It was toques and jackets at TRU men’s soccer practice this week. The chilly wind blowing through Hillside Stadium wasn’t only a preview of what’s in store for the WolfPack this weekend, as they head to Calgary for the Canada West playoffs. It brought back some fond memories of last year’s frigid U SPORTS finals on this pitch.
“It totally does. We’ve been talking about it all day, to be honest,” graduating forward Jost Hausendorf reminisces. “And also because of the snow in Calgary we heard of today. You know what? It’s bringing back good vibes — not bad memories to have, to be honest, especially going into this weekend.”
The WolfPack are a confident bunch heading into their match with the top-seeded team from the Prairie Division. The MRU Cougars finished the season with 11 wins, two losses and a draw this year, and have gone undefeated in their final five games of the regular season.
