Williams Lake RCMP provide preventative tips following spike in vehicle thefts
WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — A spike in local vehicles thefts has Williams Lake RCMP reminding residents about tips to prevent them.
In a news release issued Wednesday (Oct. 18), Williams Lake RCMP say they responded to eight different incidents over the last four days.
Residents are reminded to not leave any of their property in their vehicle and record the serial numbers of all items of value. If they must leave items in their vehicles, they’re asked to secure them in the trunk as many thieves routinely check the glove box and under the seat.
Additionally, residents are encouraged not to leave any personal identification in an unattended vehicle due to the risk of identify theft.
