Blazers Head Coach Clouston named Assistant for World Juniors
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers Head Coach and GM Shaun Clouston is heading to the World Junior Hockey Championship in Gothenburg Sweden. The annual junior tournament kicks off on Boxing Day with Canada going in as the reigning gold medalists.
Clouston will be working under Head Coach Alan Letang, from the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Other assistants on the team included Gilles Bouchard of Sherbrooke, and Scott Walker of Guelph.
Clouston has previously won two gold medals with Canada’s National Men’s Summer under-18 team at the 2014 and 2015 Ivan Hlinka tournament. He may have a chance to coach one of his own players, with analysts expecting Fraser Minten to be a lock for the squad if he his sent down by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
