KAMLOOPS — Five sites in Kamloops will be part of a new tourism campaign that aims to encourage residents and visitors to explore throughout the city.

In a news release Thursday (Oct. 12), Tourism Kamloops says Illuminate Kamloops will have five locations, each with a unique activation ranging from artistic murals to interactive light and audio experiences.

Tourism Kamloops says The Loops Explorer Station at 358 Victoria St. landed at its home earlier this summer, an installation at the Old Courthouse at 7 Seymour St. is operational and one at the Old Men’s Provincial Historic Cemetery and Arboretum at 1000 Sixth Ave. will be ready in the next week.

Illuminate Kamloops is a partnership between Tourism Kamloops and the City of Kamloops and has received funding from the B.C. government through the Community Economic Recovery Infrastructure Program. The program was created to support heritage, tourism and rural and urban economic development projects impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
