Vehicle incident impacting Highway 5 North traffic near Clearwater

UPDATE (8:20 a.m.): DriveBC says Highway 5 between Birch Island and Vavenby is now open to single-lane-alternating traffic.

Meantime, drivers are asked to watch for crews and expect delays.

An update is due at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

EARLIER: CLEARWATER, B.C. — A vehicle incident is impacting traffic on Highway 5 North.

DriveBC reported of the incident on the stretch of the Yellowhead Highway between Birch Island and Vavenby at around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 11) that has halted traffic in both directions.
