RCMP seize 500 pot plants, 1,000 seedlings from unauthorized grow op in Merritt

MERRITT, B.C. — RCMP in Merritt are cleaning up after finding a large, unsanctioned marijuana grow op in a local home.

In a news release, Cpl. Brock Hedrick says the detachment’s General Investigation Section was joined by front line and B.C. Highway Patrol officers last Thursday (Oct. 5) in raiding a rural property on Panorama Drive.

Inside, police found and seized more than 500 mature marijuana plants, along with about 1,000 seedlings.

A man was arrested on scene and later released.
